Annatto is a natural food colouring made from a flowers that gives the orange to reddish colour to some cheeses such as Red Leicester and several American cheeses.

We have tested this in soap making, and found it works really well, and we are happy that something natural, and safe to eat, is in the soaps we make for ourselves. 3/4 of a teaspoon gives a nice golden colour to a batch of soap, and you can see the colour as it mixes through, so more can be added to reach the desired result. This product requires long term storage in a refrigerator.
